Utah – Arches & Canyonlands Adventure

Uncover two of the West’s most iconic national parks - Arches & Canyonlands. Raft, hike, and search for ancient petroglyphs. All while being based in charming Moab, adventure hub of the West. $3,795 Adult / $3,595 Child

Our Purpose

The Southeastern corner of Utah is home to some of the oldest geological wonders of the United States. Between Arches & Canyonlands National Park, there is over 200 million years of history and continues to serve as an outdoor laboratory for scientists all over the world. Alongside our expert guide, we’ll discover the lesser traveled corners of this region while learning about some of nature’s greatest marvels. One day you’ll hike by ancient petroglyphs, a glimpse into the rituals and beliefs of the Fremont, Anasazi, Navajo and Anglo communities of thousands of years past. The next, you’ll meet with local conservationists working to protect these natural wonders.

What You'll Do

Welcome to your weeklong adventure through Utah’s legendary Canyonlands. Explore the amazing Colorado River by raft stopping along the way to swim in the cool waters. Pedal between burnt-orange sheer-walled canyons and enormous uniquely-shaped sandstone towers on a road snaking through Castle Valley. Marvel at how tiny you feel as you hike through looming, crimson rock formations at Fisher Towers. Take a 4×4 safari through the rugged backcountry. We’ll balance exploration of these two national parks on foot and by bike with a relaxing week based in Utah’s adventure hub – Moab. Explore this quintessential western town’s quaint cafes and restaurants only steps from Canyonlands Inn, your home-away-from-home.

What You'll See

Each day will bring a new adventure. From the Island in the Sky’s Upheaval Dome to the Grabens area of the Needles, Canyonlands possesses some of the world’s most unique landforms. Take in the majesty of the Colorado River which derives its name from Spanish – “colored red”. Stare up in awe at the 900 foot Titan at Fisher Towers: the first climb took place in 1962 and was sponsored by the National Geographic Society! Discover why Moab, with its unique combination of beautiful red rock scenery, two national parks, and the cool waters of the Colorado River, is one of the most sought out vacation destinations in the west. Come visit this wind-sculpted paradise known as Red Rock Country.

Where You'll Stay

We’ll be based for the week at the charming Canyonlands Inn. Located in the heart of downtown Moab, this hotel is within walking distance of many local restaurants and shops. This hotel will serve as our base camp for exploration of Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, and Dead Horse Point State Park. Each room is styled to capture and reflect the natural beauty of the surroundings. Relax by the outdoor pool, get a morning workout in the gym or take to Moab’s main street just steps away.

Traveler's Journal

“We decided to explore our national parks this summer as a family. Utah has always been high on our list and I couldn’t tell you how happy I was with this experience. It was the perfect blend of adventure for the kids with learning and meaningful exploration. I can’t speak highly enough of our guide – a true expert in the region. We didn’t have to worry about a thing, each day we experienced something different. I can’t wait to travel again with Discover Corps – next time internationally!”
