In everything we do, Discover Corps strives to give back to the communities we visit. We keep our operations lean so that your travel fees support the places you visit as much as possible. But, the fastest way to truly make an impact is to grow our number of travelers year after year.

This year for the holidays, we are taking things one step further. We reached out to our partner in Tanzania, Esther “Mama” Simba, and asked what her students need this year. Above all, she said school uniforms. Each student needs two to attend school, and many are worn and the cost of a new uniform puts a strain on families.

So…for every traveler who books a trip this December (travel anytime, anywhere!) we will donate one school uniform to the students in Rau Village, Tanzania, and Esther will work with her local tailor to provide these uniforms and present them to the students in February. Just an added benefit to your Vacation with Purpose.

If you aren’t sure you’re ready to book in December but you know you want to travel, choose our “placeholder” option to ensure that a student gets a uniform from your booking. You can figure out the details later! Here’s how it works:

• Select “Placeholder Option”
• Choose a trip you’re thinking about
• Pay the $365 deposit and $30 booking fee like normal
• You have 30 days to figure out the details, like when you’ll travel and where
• A Travel Specialist will be in touch with you every step of the way to make sure you’re finding the trip that’s right for you

*Please note: Whether you are a placeholder or not, if you book a trip and then cancel, you may be subject to pay the cost of a uniform to ensure that the student receives their uniform as promised. Contact us for more information and see our cancellation policy here.

And that’s it! You bought yourself some more time and have provided a new uniform to a student in Rau Village. All for taking a meaningful vacation.
