Signature Journey

9 Days / 8 Nights

$5,395 Adult / $5,095 Child

Journey across Egypt in search of the ancient wonders hidden in the Sahara Desert landscapes. Sail the Nile, visit the Pyramids, go back in time at a traditional Nubian village and see mummies that date back thousands of years.

The Experience

The journey begins in the bustling modern city of Cairo. Visit the iconic pyramids of Giza with a specialized Egyptologist guide helping us to understand how these ancient tombs were mysteriously constructed. Visit the newly opened Grand Egyptian Museum to see centuries-old mummies with your own eyes! We’ll also dive deep into Cairo’s local culture visiting a local non-profit organization, enjoying a delicious Egyptian dinner at a local family’s home and uncovering the city’s colorful markets and grand mosques.

Catch a flight down to the southern town of Aswan where we’ll board a small, luxury cruise ship for three days of exploring the beauty of the Nile River stopping along the way to explore temples, obelisks and stunning desert vistas. Our boat, the Alexander the Great, is a 5-star ship boasting only 30 rooms making it one of the smallest, most intimate experiences on the Nile. Our guide will always be present to discuss the history and importance of all that we see. Finish the Nile journey in Luxor, originally known as Thebes, the grand capital at the height of Egypt’s prominence.

A Truly Unique Perspective on Egypt

We’ll cross between modernity and the ancient world exploring the tastes while also uncovering the layers of ancient history that makes Egypt so fascinating. Along the way, we will stay at some Egypt’s most premier properties including the Nile Ritz Carlton in Cairo. An expert guide will be by your side throughout the trip narrating the journey with Egyptologist specialists joining at the various historic sites.

Our Impact

Our purpose on this journey is to experience Egypt as the pharaohs once did, uncovering temples, sailing the Nile and exploring the ancient cities of Cairo, Aswan and Luxor. We’ll also take time to discover modern day Egypt. Experience a warm welcome into an Egyptian family’s home in Cairo for a special dinner together. Visit a pioneering non-profit organization seeking to improve the lives of Cairo residents one at a time. Then venture deep into a traditional Nubian Village on the banks of the Nile River to see a culture that has weathered modernization.

Where You’ll Stay

We’ve selected a diverse portfolio of some of Egypt’s finest properties for your journey. Start your trip at the Nile Ritz Carlton in Cairo, an incredible property sitting on the banks of the Nile overlooking the ancient city of Cairo. This hotel carries a rich legacy, long celebrated as an icon of luxury in the city.  Continue to Aswan where we’ll stay at the 5-star Movenpick Elephantine Island, a property tucked into this beautiful island in the middle of the southern Nile River.

Our Nile Cruise will encompass three nights on the high-end, 5-star Alexander the Great yacht. Unlike most tours that use large 100+ room ships, the boutique 30-room ship is a modern oasis of tranquility. Our guide will join us throughout the cruise telling the stories of the temples and tombs scattered along the banks of the Nile.

End your Egyptian journey at the elegant Villa Belle Epoque, a high-end, boutique hotel set back in one of Cairo’s leafy suburbs. Home to many embassies and lined with lush greenery, this is the perfect place to end your stay.

Itinerary Overview

Over the course of 9 days, you’ll travel as the pharaohs once did across the Saharan landscapes of Egypt. Arrive in Cairo and explore the Pyramids of Giza, one of the seven ancient wonders of the world as well as the Sphinx. We’ll also explore modern Cairo dining with a local family and seeing the modern face of the city. We’ll fly to Aswan to start our 4 day/3 night cruise along the Nile River. Each day will be one of discovery, stopping along the banks to explore the temples, tombs and obelisks that dot the landscape to Luxor as well as visiting a local Nubian village.

Once in Luxor, we’ll uncover the famous Karnak Temple as well as the Valley of the Kings, the location where Egyptian nobles were once buried. Fly back to Cairo for a final day exploring the Islamic history of the city, uncovering ancient open-air markets, visiting a non-profit organization promoting education and enjoying a delicious farewell dinner together.

Traveler’s Journal

I’ve visited a majority of Discover Corps’ destinations and Egypt was one that I was absolutely blown away by. I studied Egyptian history and culture in school so stepping into the temples and seeing the hieroglyphics, mummies and towering Pyramids of Giza was absolutely surreal. The level of expertise that the Egyptologist guides have was beyond my expectations and added a layer to the experience that I would have completely missed had I traveled on my own. Egypt also knows hospitality – each of the properties that the we stayed at were top notch and truly treated us like pharaohs!
