It’s not an easy time to be a person who cares deeply. The oceans are warming, people are hungry and species are reaching extinction at an alarming rate. It can feel a bit bleak.
But look closer, and you’ll see glimmers of hope, bright spots where communities and wildlife are flourishing.
As a certified B Corp, using the power of business for good is a big part of who we are. This year, DC travelers supported over two dozen projects around the world, ranging from education initiatives in a small Tanzanian school to sea turtle conservation in Costa Rica to community building initiatives in Cuba.
We’re feeling gratitude for our for our non-profit and NGO partners that work tirelessly to improve their local areas and show our travelers another side of the communities we visit. We’re feeling gratitude to partners and local guides who breathe life into all of our trips and facilitate the connections that are at the heart of it all. And of course, we’re feeling BIG gratitude for our fun, diverse and open-hearted travelers who choose to use travel for good ❤️
Our Local Non-Profit Partners

Change starts small! From grassroots organizations of just a few volunteers to international groups making major change, our local service partners are at the core of what makes Discover Corps who we are.
Muraleando is an ongoing community art project and cultural hub in Havana, Cuba. This neighborhood was once a garbage dump; over the years, it’s been transformed by local artists and community members and now houses an art gallery, youth programs and performances. DC folks lend a hand here for several mornings during their trip, pitching in on everything from fine art to infrastructure to assisting in performances.
In Australia, our groups spent several days each volunteering their time and manpower at the David Fleay Wildlife Park, a sanctuary for native critters. While the work is sometimes dirty, the tradeoff is worth it: travelers are rewarded with up-close encounters with local animals and the sense of a job well done.
En Via is a non-profit organization that works to empower women to better support themselves and their families. They use funds generated through responsible tourism to provide interest-free loans and educational programs to entrepreneurial women in 5 communities around Oaxaca, Mexico. Our groups are invited into the homes and workplaces of these local Zapotec women, where they learn traditional cooking and craft techniques passed down through the generations.
Our Guides

Discover Corps guides are the gateway to a truly different type of travel. They are professionals, sure, but they are also locals who are excited to share their home and knowledge, facilitating connections across oceans, generations and cultures.
In Baja, Axel is a wealth of information for curious visitors! His background in marine biology and insider knowledge of all things Baja – including where to get the absolute best road-trip food – make him a great resource for curious travelers.
One of our Egypt guides, Mahmoud Ramadan, has dedicated his career to all things Egypt, studying Egyptology & Tour Guiding and has been a certified Tour Guide with the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism since 2007. With his true enthusiasm & genuine Egyptian sense of humor, Ramadan enjoys sharing his vast knowledge and passion for Egypt with visitors from all over the world.
