The Discover Corps team comes from a wide variety of backgrounds, but they all share a passion for world cultures — and a belief that responsible, sustainable travel can make the world a better place.

Alex DuBois

Alex is the Executive Director of Discover Corps. He discovered his passion for travel while studying Global & International Studies at University of California, Santa Barbara when he studied in Thailand. After graduation, he spent two years in Poland & Germany completing his MA in Global Studies. Since then, Alex has traveled extensively across the world developing Discover Corps’ travel programs. He is currently pursuing his MBA at the University of California, San Diego.

Angela Bailey

Angela was born and raised in a small fishing town in Alaska and attended the University of Alaska, Anchorage where she received a degree in International Studies. She has a passion for travel and has explored various countries throughout Central America and Southeast Asia, volunteering in community based projects in Thailand and El Salvador. With Discover Corps, Angela has visited South Africa, Costa Rica, The Dominican Republic, and Cuba.

Peter Mombaur

Peter is a co-founder of Discover Corps. He spent his last 15 years working across Africa before joining Terra Education full-time in 2016 as CEO. Peter was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company in Duesseldorf before transferring to Johannesburg. He later co-founded and co-ran Tana Africa Capital; now a leading Africa-focused investment company. Peter and his wife Busi have three children and likes to meet friends and play chess in his free time.

Brett Scuiletti

Brett hails from Connecticut but has spent most of the last decade in Southern California. He graduated from Elon University in North Carolina as a Journalism & Communications Fellow and completed a study abroad and internship experience in London that cultivated a lifelong love of meaningful travel. Brett has been on the team since 2014 and hopes to help other aspiring adventurers find their own meaningful travel experience through a Discover Corps trip.

Hannah Shepherd

A native Brit now living in San Diego, Hannah’s curiosity for exploring other cultures and world wide travel was established at a young age. Having embarked on a service-learning program to Costa Rica as teen and then traveling independently throughout Latin America, South Africa, Australia and many European countries, Hannah is a strong believer in the personal growth and priceless global perspective obtained from educational travel.

Ashley Welter

Ashley was born and raised in San Diego and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication & Behavioral Psychology from UCSD. Ashley truly believes in the power of experiential education and meaningful travel, and has witnessed firsthand the positive effect of these trips on the travelers themselves, and more importantly, the communities they visit during their time abroad.

Anna Graham-Meyer

Anna graduated with Highest Honors from the University of Lynchburg with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting. A San Diego native, her international travels began at a young age traveling to Tijuana, Mexico with her father to make building repairs to elementary schools. She is looking forward to the day her daughter is old enough to travel with her on Discover Corps trips.

Andrew Motiwalla, Founder

Andrew served two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Central America. His overseas volunteer experience ignited a passion to share that experience with others, and he became vice president at a non-profit international volunteer organization. There he set up volunteer operations in 10 countries around the world. Taking this passion for helping connect people of different cultures, he founded Terra Education, from which Discover Corps was later born.
