The Discover Corps team comes from a wide variety of backgrounds, but they all share a passion for world cultures — and a belief that responsible, sustainable travel can make the world a better place.
Alex DuBois, Executive Director
Alex discovered his passion for travel while studying Global & International Studies at University of California, Santa Barbara when he studied in Thailand. After graduation, he spent two years in Poland & Germany completing his MA in Global Studies and recently completed his MBA at the University of California, San Diego. Alex travels across the world developing Discover Corps’ travel programs and is introducing his passion for travel to his young son.
Angela Bailey, Director of Sales & Coordination
Angela was born and raised in a small fishing town in Alaska and attended the University of Alaska, Anchorage where she received a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies. She’s traveled extensively throughout Central America and Southeast Asia, volunteering in community based projects in Thailand, Mexico, and El Salvador. Angela’s joy is getting to assist new travelers achieve their dreams through travel. With Discover Corps, Angela has visited South Africa, Costa Rica, The Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Cuba.
Jenny Hamilton, Travel Coordinator
Jenny’s passion for travel began during her studies as a Spanish Language and Literature major in college. With a love of learning new languages and about other cultures, Jenny moved to Costa Rica to work in student-based travel where she lived for three years exploring Central America. Originally from Michigan, Jenny is now living in Brazil where she enjoys the beach, açaí bowls, and spending time outside when not helping travelers get ready for their adventures!
Lynne Corvaglia, Travel Specialist
Lynne’s first time travelling outside her hometown in Ontario, Canada was to Rajasthan, India when she was only 13 year old, on a volunteer trip. Since then, she has found herself working, studying and/or volunteering in Kenya, Ghana, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Guatemala, Brazil and more. Her love for the communities she interacted with around the world also led her to studying International Development where her thesis focused on the impacts of tourism. Currently Lynne lives in Costa Rica where she enjoys gardening, sewing, painting and walks with her dog!
Claudia Goldstein, Travel Coordinator
Claudia is passionate about travel and learning about different cultures. That passion was ignited after spending 18 months in the U.S. on an exchange program where she made friends from all over the world. Originally from Brazil, she now lives in California where there are endless new places to travel to. Claudia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a Master’s Degree in Sales Management. In her free time, she loves being outdoors spending time at the beach, hiking, and trying new food.
Colette Williams, Travel Coordinator
Originally from Florida, Colette would now say that she lives everywhere and nowhere. She has always had an interest in traveling the world and learning about other cultures. Her first international trip without her family was at 15 years old. The passion really kicked into high gear in 2019 when she first got a job where she could work from anywhere. She absolutely loves the nomadic lifestyle and is constantly moving from country to country. She has been to over 30 countries and is planning on many more. She loves helping others decide where to spend their well deserved vacation and uses her personal knowledge to inform how she guides Discover Corps travelers.
Leila Barth, Travel Coordinator
Leila is originally from Los Angeles and began her travels as a young child visiting her extended family all over France. After graduating from college she lived in Spain for three years teaching English and eating delicious tapas! She has lived all over the world including Costa Rica, Australia and Florida but now she calls Oregon home. When she is not coordinating trips for Discover Corps she can be found hiking a long trail, scuba diving on beach trips or whipping up a scrumptious meal!
Peter Mombaur, Co-Founder
Peter is a co-founder of Discover Corps. He spent his last 15 years working across Africa before joining Terra Education full-time in 2016 as CEO. Peter was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company in Duesseldorf before transferring to Johannesburg. He later co-founded and co-ran Tana Africa Capital; now a leading Africa-focused investment company. Peter and his wife Busi have three children and likes to meet friends and play chess in his free time.
Brett Scuiletti, Marketing Director
Brett hails from Connecticut but has spent most of the last decade in Southern California. He graduated from Elon University in North Carolina as a Journalism & Communications Fellow and completed a study abroad and internship experience in London that cultivated a lifelong love of meaningful travel. Brett has been on the team since 2014 and hopes to help other aspiring adventurers find their own meaningful travel experience through a Discover Corps trip.
Hannah Shepherd, Marketing Coordinator
A native Brit now living in San Diego, Hannah’s curiosity for exploring other cultures and world wide travel was established at a young age. Having embarked on a service-learning program to Costa Rica as teen and then traveling independently throughout Latin America, South Africa, Australia and many European countries, Hannah is a strong believer in the personal growth and priceless global perspective obtained from educational travel.
Ashley Welter, Digital Marketing Specialist
Ashley was born and raised in San Diego and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication & Behavioral Psychology from UCSD. Ashley truly believes in the power of experiential education and meaningful travel, and has witnessed firsthand the positive effect of these trips on the travelers themselves, and more importantly, the communities they visit during their time abroad.
Anna Graham-Meyer, Accounting Manager
Anna graduated with Highest Honors from the University of Lynchburg with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting. A San Diego native, her international travels began at a young age traveling to Tijuana, Mexico with her father to make building repairs to elementary schools. She is looking forward to the day her daughter is old enough to travel with her on Discover Corps trips.
Andrew Motiwalla, Founder
Andrew served two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Central America. His overseas volunteer experience ignited a passion to share that experience with others, and he became vice president at a non-profit international volunteer organization where he set up operations in 10 countries. Taking this passion for helping connect people of different cultures, he founded Terra Education, from which Discover Corps was later born. His latest venture is The Good Life Abroad.
