But, the volunteer mornings at the David Fleay Wildlife Park enticed us to give this trip a try. At the park, we had a wonderful ranger Ella who gave us many experiences - from weighing a koala, to gathering and preparing meals for dingoes, kangaroos, a platypus and cassowary, as well as some pen cleaning and vine planting for butterfly habitat. ”

Many days, I would wake up early before our delicious breakfast together, just to sit out on the private porch and enjoy the early morning view and the sound of the birds. “Our accommodations, service and the food at Rukiya Camp were far beyond my expectations. Glamping anyone? Loved the hot water bottle surprise in my bed in the evening. We visited and taught at an orphanage, built bat houses and created snacks for baboons, and, the highlight, the fantastic work rescuing rhinos at the private sanctuary. I highly recommend this trip.”
