Thailand - Photos from February 2014 Trip
The simplest way I can put it is that I am moved by this experience. Here are a handful of photos from this recent trip.
Thailand Trip - Photo Album
As our time in Thailand wound down, I was overwhelmed by emotions on the last days. The local community took us in with open arms. This really is more than just a trip. All of the connections we made over the past two weeks created a lasting impression. A few that stick out to me are:
- The day with a hill tribe family picking vegetables in their garden, learning to cook a traditional meal, and then eating it together
- Having an intimate conversation with a Buddhist monk about the role of religion in contemporary Thailand
- Holding back tears as we gave our final goodbyes to the children at the village school
As anyone who travels knows, connections like this are not limited to Thailand. Local communities everywhere are eager to let you into their world — it’s just a matter of knowing the right people.
