North America

We will journey between the islands of Oahu and Maui and go behind the scenes of several community-led initiatives. On Oahu, we’ll venture to the majestic Waimea Valley to lend a hand on a reforestation project and have a farm-to-table dinner on a local family’s eco farm. In Maui, we’ll spend two mornings helping the Maui Ocean Center Marine Institute protect endangered sea turtles where they nest through participating in data collection, tracking, and habitat restoration. This work is central to the effort to preserve the green sea turtle’s increasingly threatened habitat.

As America’s last frontier, Alaska boasts a nearly endless amount of natural beauty, but dig below the surface and you will quickly see that there is an overriding sense of concern amongst the local population about the changing climate, and environmental degradation, and the extreme isolation of Alaska also puts it at an even higher risk of eminent change.

As we meet with researchers, scientists, and local community groups, The Great Exploration across this region of Alaska will show you a side of Alaska that few others get to experience and provide you with a deeper sense of what is being done to protect it for future generations.
