Our Impact
The areas around Cusco and the Sacred Valley are home to some of the most well-preserved traditional communities and innovative conservation projects. Spend a morning at the innovative non-profit Kuksa School. Created to support disadvantaged youth in the community, we’ll lend a hand on one of the many projects at the school, from classroom learning to arts and crafts as well as gardening projects. We’ll also meet the cheerful farmers, weavers and children in the village of Ccorccor where we’ll learn about the colorful fabrics used for weaving and play games with the kids. Visit one of the area’s most famous hat makers, Elvira Argandano, whose family has made over six hundred thousand hats for residents of the Andes. Join the team at the Llama Pack Project – a non-profit organization that is reintegrating llamas into daily life in the Andes. And finally enjoy a special lunch prepared by Manuel Choqque, the world-famous “Potato Whisperer” who is revolutionizing the field of gastronomy.
