Our Team

About Us

The Discover Corps team comes from a wide variety of backgrounds, but they all share a passion for world cultures — and a belief that responsible, sustainable travel can make the world a better place.

Alex DuBois, Executive Director

Alex discovered his passion for travel while studying Global & International Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. After graduation, he spent two years in Poland & Germany completing his MA in Global Studies and recently earned his MBA at the University of California, San Diego. A firm believer in the power of perspective, he is currently introducing the world to his favorite new travel companion: his young son.

Angela Bailey, Director of Sales & Coordination

Angela lives in Alaska, where she is raising her son and enjoying the beauty and adventure of the Last Frontier. With a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies from the University of Alaska, Anchorage, she brings a global perspective to her love of meaningful travel. Angela has explored South Africa, Costa Rica, The Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Cuba with Discover Corps, and delights in helping new travelers turn their travel dreams into unforgettable experiences.

Jenny Hamilton, Senior Travel Operations Coordinator

Jenny’s passion for travel began during her studies as a Spanish Language and Literature major in college. With a love of learning new languages and about other cultures, Jenny moved to Costa Rica to work in student-based travel where she lived for three years exploring Central America. Originally from Michigan, Jenny is now living in Brazil where she enjoys the beach, açaí bowls, and spending time outside when not helping travelers get ready for their adventures!

Lynne Corvaglia, Travel Specialist

Originally from Canada, Lynne’s global journey began at age 13 on a volunteer trip to India, leading to years of work and study across Kenya, Ghana, and South America. With a degree in International Development focused on sustainable tourism, she now serves as a Travel Specialist, using her expertise to help you find your perfect purpose-driven adventure. Now residing in Costa Rica, Lynne is also the co-founder of Wearsos, a social enterprise that upcycles airline materials to empower rural women through stable employment and educational projects. You can meet Lynne in person on our Costa Rica: Culture, Craft & Conservation trip, where she shares her favorite local impact projects and offers a behind-the-scenes look at her workshop!

Lauren Romanzak, Travel & Strategic Partnerships Specialist

Informed by her own experiences living in the UK and Spain, Lauren believes in the transformational capability of travel. Holding a Master’s in International Education from Florida State University, Lauren has directed study abroad and corporate travel programs across North America, Europe, Southeast Asia, and Oceania. Whether an outdoor adventure or quality time with friends and family, Lauren seeks connection to others and the world around her – and loves supporting Discover Corps travelers’ opportunities for the same.

Claudia Goldstein, Travel Operations Coordinator

Claudia is passionate about travel and learning about different cultures.  That passion was ignited after spending 18 months in the U.S. on an exchange program where she made friends from all over the world. Originally from Brazil, she now lives in California where there are endless new places to travel to. Claudia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a Master’s Degree in Sales Management. In her free time, she loves being outdoors spending time at the beach, hiking, and trying new food.

Colette Williams, Travel Operations Coordinator

Originally from Florida, Colette would now say that she lives everywhere and nowhere. She has always had an interest in traveling the world and learning about other cultures. Her first international trip without her family was at 15 years old. The passion really kicked into high gear in 2019 when she first got a job where she could work from anywhere. She absolutely loves the nomadic lifestyle and is constantly moving from country to country. She has been to over 40 countries and is planning on many more. She loves helping others decide where to spend their well deserved vacation and uses her personal knowledge to inform how she guides Discover Corps travelers.

Avi Sandique, Travel Operations Support

Avi developed a love for travel at an early age while living in Singapore, sparking a lifelong curiosity about people and cultures around the world. Since then, she has explored countries across Asia, Europe, and Africa, always seeking immersive and meaningful experiences. A licensed Psychometrician with a degree in Applied Psychology, she is passionate about understanding people, cultures, and the shared experiences that connect them. In her free time, she enjoys reading, photography, cafe hopping, and trying new food.

Brett hails from Connecticut but has spent most of the last decade in Southern California. He graduated from Elon University in North Carolina as a Journalism & Communications Fellow and completed a study abroad and internship experience in London that cultivated a lifelong love of meaningful travel. Brett has been on the team since 2014 and hopes to help other aspiring adventurers find their own meaningful travel experience through a Discover Corps trip.

Hannah Shepherd, Marketing Coordinator

A native Brit now living in San Diego, Hannah’s curiosity for exploring other cultures and world wide travel was established at a young age. Having embarked on a service-learning program to Costa Rica as teen and then traveling independently throughout Latin America, South Africa, Australia and many European countries, Hannah is a strong believer in the personal growth and priceless global perspective obtained from educational travel.

Anna Graham-Meyer, Accounting Manager

Anna graduated with Highest Honors from the University of Lynchburg with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting. A San Diego native, her international travels began at a young age traveling to Tijuana, Mexico with her father to make building repairs to elementary schools. She is looking forward to the day her daughter is old enough to travel with her on Discover Corps trips.
